TEDxWoodstock started as TEDxHartlandHill, named for the ridge overlooking the community and the history woven through it. It has become clear the ideas and conversations stretch beyond one hillside. The hill grounds our story. Woodstock extends the invitation even wider. All are welcome.

Introducing the 2026 Woodstock TEDx theme: ” ART IS…”
“Art Is…” everyone, everything, all at once, and what authoritarianism fears for a reason.
At pivotal moments in history, how a society treats its artists tells us a great deal about who it is becoming. Whether art is supported or suppressed, whether creative voices are welcomed, tolerated, or pushed aside, this shapes the culture far beyond galleries or stages.
Art is not a luxury. It’s essential infrastructure. Art expands the circle.
Art is often the first bridge between strangers, where strangers become neighbors.
And perhaps art is the antidote.
In Vermont, art has never belonged only to artists. It lives in place, in people, in the in-between spaces. Be that in the trades, in small businesses, in community care. Art is in plumbing, in framing, in farming, in accounting, in cooking, in storytelling, in how we gather, how we rebuild and resist.
