About the event

Hamnet is a profoundly moving portrait of love, loss, and creativity, following Agnes and William Shakespeare as they build a life together, welcome their three children, and endure the devastating death of their son, an event that would later inspire the play, Hamlet. Adapted from Maggie O’Farrell’s acclaimed novel Hamnet: A Novel of the Plague, the film weaves intimacy and history into a story on grief and resilience. Widely praised by critics, Hamnet was named one of the American Film Institute’s Top 10 Films of 2025.
